How to hide sensitive information

  1. Open the image in Redacted.
  2. Scan the image from top to bottom.
  3. Add a selection over every private detail.
  4. Use black box for sensitive text, pixelate for faces, and blur for casual context.
  5. Download the cleaned image.

Do a final privacy pass

Zoom out and look for small details that are easy to miss: browser tabs, file names, status bars, map labels, timestamps, and notification previews.

Should I use blur or black box?

Use black box for information that must be fully hidden. Use blur for lower-risk details where a softer look is acceptable.

Does Redacted remove metadata?

Yes. The exported image does not keep the original metadata.
