Blur text in image online
Blur text in a screenshot, photo, receipt, or document image before you share it. Redacted runs locally in your browser, so the image stays on your device.
Text people usually blur
- Names, usernames, and profile details
- Phone numbers and email addresses
- Addresses, order IDs, and tracking numbers
- Private messages and chat previews
- Account balances, receipts, and invoices
How to blur text in an image
- Open your image in Redacted.
- Drag a rectangle over the text.
- Choose the blur mask.
- Resize the selection until the full line is covered.
- Download or copy the edited image.
When blur is not enough
Blur is good for casual sharing, but it can be weaker than a solid cover if the text is very large or high contrast. For passwords, legal documents, IDs, or financial information, use the black box mask instead.
FAQ
Can I blur multiple lines of text?
Yes. Add one selection per line or create one larger selection over the whole block.
Can I paste a screenshot?
Yes. Copy a screenshot, open Redacted, and paste it with Ctrl/Cmd + V.
Does the original text remain in the exported file?
The selected area is rendered into the exported image. Redacted also strips image metadata from the output.
